"People fall in love in mysterious ways", that's a part of Thinking Out Loud lyric from Ed Sheeran song that almost precisely depict how people get the feeling of love. I do agree with it but not quite agree.
Many of us know that it is really good to be loved, but that doesn't means people really knew how to love. How can we really perceive that love is really a good thing? How can we feel what love is ? when do we really love ? do we love? Is it just a perception from our senses? Do we really know what love is? Or maybe we just guessing that "it" was love?
We human fellow tend to mix our feeling for "be loved" with "love". We often loving other by insisting for return; Loving our life partner by demanding for care from him/her; Loving our spouse by asking for his/her sacrifices. Loving by asking for a return is not really a love, it called "Be loved". Let me put it straight, love is not about ourselves but about other, love is not a "me" side, love is not selfish.
In my christian perspective (Christ perspective), love is giving your life to others, loving your life partner by giving all of yourself to him/her, loving your family by giving your life to them, and loving your neighbor as you love yourself. Loving by sacrificing yourself. Maybe you think these are really hard to do, i agree with it, but not impossible to do.
Pardon for my bias perspective.
For me, love is not merely how we feel and act to people but love is how we living our life thoroughly by giving our full capability for others. The life of giving not asking. So now, stop asking for love. Learn to love. Don't wait for love, don't wait for be loved. Act your love now. Because I believe that we are already be loved by our Creator -- For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
His love is more than enough for us... ;).
