Orkut will be die on September 30, 2014

Another platform that will be die soon, Orkut. It will be down on September 30, 2014. There are no tiny impact at all in my life because of this bad news, but a glimpse of a thought flashing in my brain that even facebook.com will also be die too like its predecessor, friendster.com (eventhough it's not really die but evolving as a social gaming site) and this Orkut.

Well, It is call a life.

A Farewell to Orkut

After ten years of sparking conversations and forging connections, we have decided it's time for us to start saying goodbye to Orkut. Over the past decade, YouTube, Blogger and Google+ have taken off, with communities springing up in every corner of the world. Because the growth of these communities has outpaced Orkut's growth, we've decided to focus our energy and resources on making these other social platforms as amazing as possible for everyone who uses them.
We will shut down Orkut on September 30, 2014. Until then, there will be no impact on you, so you may have time to manage the transition. You can export your profile data, community posts and photos usingGoogle Takeout (available until September 2016). We are preserving an archive of all public communities, which will be available online starting September 30, 2014. It's been a great 10 years, and we apologize to those of you still actively using the service. We hope you will find other online communities to spark more conversations and build even more connections for the next decade and beyond.

Bagaimana memblok website tertentu di Google Chrome

Saya sangat kesal karena sering sekali mendapatkan link situs tertentu yang mengarahkan pencarian ke situs lain yang ternyata hanya situs penipuan (scam) seperti situs http://megadown.us . Jadi saya berpikir bagaimana caranya itu memblok situs tersebut dari hasil pencarian google di Google Chrome.

Dari hasil pencarian saya yang sangat tidak melelahkan, akhirnya saya temukan sebuah jawaban yang sangat memudahkan...:D (Alay). Untuk memblok website tertentu dari hasil pencarian google dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan extension Personal Blocklist.

Cara instalasinya cukup mudah, tinggal dengan mengunjungi Personal Blocklist di Chrome Web Store, setelah itu klik di bagian Added to Chrome seperti pada gambar 1.

Maka akan muncul di bagian kanan atas icon warna merah bergambar tangan ditengahnya. Seperti gambar 2

Untuk melakukan blok pada website tertentu dapat dilakukan dengan cara sebagai berikut seperti pada gambar 3:

1. Buka website di tab baru

2. Klik lambang Personal Blocklist (icon warna merah bergambar tangan)
3. Klik "Block current host:nama_website"
